Black, White and Wooden

This lovely home in Port Elliot was years in the making with the Owner watching the block waiting for it to go on the market from her existing home down the road. She quickly snaffled it up as soon as the “For Sale” sign went up!

With lovely views across the oval and into the hills, and a desirable North-South orientation, it is a great spot to retire and enjoy a seaside lifestyle.

Considering retirement it was important that the house meet the Owner’s needs now and into the future, but of course, nothing was sacrificed for style. The block was shaped in such a way that once a car was pulled into the driveway no more steps would impede a person throughout the home.

A very particular layout was required in the main room. A dining area separated two very open living zones which all enjoyed views and quick access to a well-equipped kitchen (which was finished with a feature black splashback). The pantry and laundry also came of this zone, making it the complete heart of the home. A large frosted black aluminum front door and the Owners feature dividing wall give you great insight of what’s about to come with this home.

The three bedrooms are all good sizes; the master bedroom has a walk behind robe and large ensuite along with direct access out on to the hardwood deck and into the backyard.

Black windows and white cladding create a real sense of style for this home. The large north facing sliding door is shaded by a cantilevered timber and steel slatted sun shade. The slats are angled appropriately to stop the summer sun but allow the all-important winter sun into the living zone.

Completely capitalizing on its plan living and minimalist styling this home will serve as a great gathering point for family and friends for many years to come.
